Leeco Steel Trading’s Commercial Director Antonio Rosset traveled to Cairo, Egypt in late August. Antonio met with executives at multiple supplier and customer companies, along with taking time to explore the Sahara Desert. Check out the stops Antonio made while in Cairo!

First Stop: Kandil Steel
Our first stop in Egypt is to a Kandil Steel mill. While touring the mill, coils of cold-rolled steel, one of Kandil’s main product offerings, stretched across the grounds. Most of these coils will be sourced to various markets across Europe and the Middle East – about 40% of the steel Kandil produces is dedicated to exports.

Next Stop: Egyptalum
Our next stop is to Egyptalum, one of the largest aluminum producers in the Middle East. Though surrounded by miles of desert, Egyptalum’s facility is strategically-placed for access to ports and rails, and to allow for urban expansion as the company grew. During a tour of the facility, you can see various aluminum products, including coils, sheet and plate.

Next Stop: Abu Qir
For our third stop, we visited a fertilizer producer in the town of Abu Qir, located along the Mediterranean coast of Egypt. With fertilizer in high-demand, Leeco Trading looks to expand its import capabilities to offer this raw material to customers.

Next Stop: AlexFert
At the end of our trip, we made our final company visit at AlexFert. AlexFert is also a fertilizer manufacturer. We enjoyed touring their facility and strengthening our relationship to ensure Leeco can offer quality products at competitive rates to our customers.
